Episode 20 - Evil Plans (s3e8)

TIME WARP CONTINUES

In this, the 20th episode of the Clone Cast (but isn't the 21st already up?), Nic and Josh do their best to talk about the droid-centric episode "Evil Plans."

Here's a little tip to any potential podcasters out there: if you're going to do a show about a film or episode of a television show, it's a good idea to
1) watch the thing more than once or twice, and/or
2) watch it soon before recording your podcast.

Nic and Josh did neither of these things for this episode.

But they sure did have fun recording it! And they hope you have fun listening to it!

But in good news, their next full episode (about "Heroes on Both Sides") actually plays out like a podcast about Star Wars. Who'd have thunk it?

Episode 21 - Hunt for Ziro (s3e9)

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE CLONE CAST!!!

As you enjoy a day of family, friends, food, festivities, and presents, take some time to listen to Nic and Josh as in celebration of the holiday they sort of discuss the third season episode "The Hunt for Ziro" (not Red October) in this, their 21st episode (in a strange bit of timewarping, the 20th episode will be up soon...).

It was a party atmosphere for this one. And if you've listened to the Tenth Epiversarysode, you know what that means. You, the Clone Cast audience deserve a better present than this. Maybe next year. But for this year and this episode...Good luck!

Episode 19 - Assassin (s3e7)

A day late, yes. But a dollar short? That's for you to decide. (It is only 2 hours, 18 minutes, and 12 seconds though. What's that all about?)

In this somewhat subdued (for some unknown reason) episode of the Clone Cast, Nic and Josh read e-mails, talk shirt sizes, meet a seldom mentioned relative of Skeletor, make more Back to the Future references than Star Trek references, and tackle the deeper-than-it-might-first-appear and less-violent-than-it-sounds episode "Assassin"

...They also talk about advantages Jedi have over the rest of us when it comes to bowel movements.

...Sorry.

Enjoy!

Today's corrections:
-Nic doesn't know of any people, except white supremacists, who think slavery, women not being able to vote, segregation, and such things were *good*.
(It'll make sense when you listen to the episode.)

The Clone Cast - Episode 18 (s3e6)

And here it is, on time: the 18th full episode of The Clone Cast!

Listen in as Nic and Josh read e-mails, learn very little about Generator Rex, and discuss "The Academy" (that's the episode of the Clone Wars, not the chain of sports apparel retail stores...though, oddly enough, they mention them as well). There's also a conversation with Rasheed Garboshkyl, and other randomness.

Oh, a few corrections from the Clone Cast's crack research team:
-Turns out intoxicating a fish is perfectly legal in Alabama. But it is a crime in Ohio.
-The Internet says icecream cones in pockets is a no-no in the state of Kentucky. Columbiana is not mentioned.
-The 1984 Minimum Drinking Age Act says that all states in the U.S.A. must make it illegal for people under 21 to purchase alcohol. Any state that does not comply faces a ten percent decrease in its annual federal highway apportionment. So the states are indeed free to have differing minimum ages, but it might cost them federal tax dollars.

The Clone Cast - Uncensored Update

It's a very special episode of the Clone Cast. First, except for adding music and such, Nic did no editing to this episode (hence the uncensored part). Ever wondered what Nic and Josh sound like without the power of editing? Listen and find out. Second, this is not a numbered episode. It's a tangent, a gaiden if you will. What does that mean for this episode? Listen and find out. Third, it's actually being put up on the same day it's recorded! Listen and find out...wait..what? Anyway...

In this special update episode of the Clone Cast, Josh and Nic give an update on the goings on at the Clone Cast, talk overall season 3 impressions, and their future plans. Enjoy!

Misc Things

Some things I said I'd put up on the site, but haven't gotten around to it yet:

The Acapella Inception Redub link from Mr. X

The Ventress kiss cut from the season premiere

Here's a picture of a picture of Liz's and my baby

Episode 17 - Corruption (s3e5)

It feels like there hasn't been a new episode of The Clone Cast since...oh before you were born. But Nic and Josh are back, and free from corruption! Listen in as they read e-mails, make Star Trek and Back to the Future references, and talk about corruption. Has Satine lost her mind? Has her pacifism driven her to lash out? Is she corrupt? And what of Padme?

Nic and Josh discuss all this and more in this week's episode of The Clone Cast, dealing with the third season episode "Corruption."

p.s. - Did we mention corruption?

Sorry for the delay

Several things have been happening, and that's the reason there haven't been any new episodes up in the last few weeks. We were going to get one up mid-morning today, but my grandfather passed away this morning at the age of 86.

So it will probably be this evening.

p.s. - Thanks for your patience. We have an awesome audience!

Episode 16 - Sphere of Influence (s3e4)

Prepare yourself, Internet, for...THE HAMMER!! For it has come to pass that, in an otherwise unassuming episode of The Clone Wars (known as Sphere of Influence), George Lucas has, with the help of everyone's favorite Rodian, dropped The Hammer. What exactly is The Hammer, you ask? Listen in and find out. For there is much to discuss, and the guys are fired up.

Yes, it's another tour-on-the-S.S.-Minow-sized episode of The Clone Cast! Though The Hammer looms like a shadow over everything that's said here, that's not all this episode has to offer.

The guys read e-mails (including one from a first time writer). Nic's wife gets sick and Josh tells everyone what a fun podcast they have. They engage in a lengthy discussion about the EU, message boards, and The Hammer. A new person is welcomed to the couch. And eventually they get around to (again with only the Wookieepedia summary and their memories to aid them) talking a little about the actual episode Sphere of Influence, an episode they both enjoyed.

...Are those bells I here?

P.S. - Liz says that if Freddie Prinze Jr. is listening, and the story she tells of how you got your scar on your chin is incorrect, please accept her apologies.

Episode 15 - Supply Lines (s3e3)

Calm down EV101, it's here. Yes folks, after a bit of a delay it's the entirely too long 15th episode of the Clone Cast! In this episode Nic and Josh discuss Supply Lines, an episode which Josh didn't enjoy on first viewing. So significant were his feelings of non-hate-just-non-digging that it threatened to destroy the Clone Cast forever (or at least make this episode unusual). But then Josh watched it again and liked it. And yet the result is a long episode, much like their episode for Senate Murders (an episode neither dug on)...yet with less random.

So listen in as the guys talk balancing Gungans, Trade Federation allegiances, accents, George Lucas' concern for story and plot, and some usual randomness.

Oh, after you listen, please note these few musical corrections, given that Nic and Josh apparently know nothing of pop music:

Beyonce was not in TLC. She was in Destiny's Child
Beyonce didn't sing "Fighter." It was Christina Agulera.
The tune Nic was singing was "I'm a Survivor" which is by Destiny's Child.

P.S. - Tune in next time for.....THE HAMMER!!

Episode 14 - Season 3 Premiere (s3e1-2)

Season 3 has arrived! On this week's episode of The Clone Cast Nic and Josh reveal some important things that have happened to them over the summer, read some e-mail, christen their new segment on Generator Rex (farewell Fancypants Green Jacket Number 10), and discuss the two-episode season 3 premiere. There's a lot of excitement in the air...but not many notes on the desk. So listen in as, armed only with the Wookieepedia summaries and their memories, the guys do their best to bring you an informative and entertaining look at the prequel and sequel to "Rookies."

Commentary on Episode 1 (v1)

We said we'd do commentaries on the films during the summer of 2010. And blast it, we did it. Well...not commentaries plural. But commentary, singular, yes. Granted we're getting it in just under the wire, as summer 2010 ends for us in the northern hemisphere on September 23 at 03:09 AM GMT, and this is being uploaded less than an hour before then. But summer is summer.

So sit back and enjoy our commentary on Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. There were no rehearsals. No notes. And we didn't point out things that Nic wishes we had. But the point here was just to do something relaxed and spontaneous...to make it like you're just hanging out watching the film with Nic and Josh. Part nerdy Star Wars observations, part MST3K-inspired riffing, this commentary is all us.

Though we do some stuff in the commentary to help with syncing, here's a helpful tip: The 13 minutes and 52 seconds mark on our audio file syncs up to the 15 second mark on the TPM DVD.

As always, we welcome feedback.

P.S. - Thanks to the folks of MST3K, RiffTrax, and Cinematic Titanic for the inspiration to do something like this. For this kind of thing done professionally, check out rifftrax.com

Episode 11 - Death Trap (s2e20)

So soon?? Yes, internet, this is indeed the 11th episode of the Clone Cast. No more of that crazy anniversary-isode party nonsense. It's back to business. And business is talking about the Clone Wars...and being goofy and random. So sit back and listen to the soothing sounds of Nic and Josh, and a special guest. Thanks to all those who've written in about our hiatus and the Bounty Hunters episode. We're hoping to have OUR TENTH EPISODE up in the next couple of weeks. This summer has proven to be more hectic than we thought. But don't worry, we're itching to get back to our microphones and talk Star Wars and be random for a couple of hours.

Speaking of random, in the meantime, check out the great commercials and videos Old Spice has been doing here.

RETURN!! Nic and Josh have returned for the 9th episode of The Clone Cast, in which they discuss one of their favorite episodes from the season: Bounty Hunters! As you'll see, this episode was recorded some time ago. But, much like cheese, it's only gotten better as it's aged on Nic's hard drive. "We're not dead yet"

So, happy Star Wars day everyone! Just a quick post to say we aren't dead. We've just had a lot going on, and haven't been able to get stuff up as quickly as we'd like.

Our episode on Bounty Hunters has been recorded, and should be up within a day or two.

Our Tenth Episode is about the Zillo Beast episodes. It's 3/4th recorded.

We might have a guest for the Boba Fett episodes. No one famous though. Either way, those episodes haven't been recorded.

Ok, that's all for now.

Episode 8 - Cat and Mouse (s2, ep16)

Get ready to live. In this week's episode of The Clone Cast, Nic and Josh take a look at the second season episode entitled "Cat and Mouse." Well, they sort of take a look. Truth is they spend a lot of time talking about Ben 10, James Arnold Taylor, Lt. Cmdr Worf, MST3K, and other random things that pop into their heads. But they do also get around to talking about The Clone Wars. So sit back and enjoy this, the shortest of all regular Clone Cast episodes.

P.S. - All those from India and Russia, no offense is intended.

P.P.S. - We're not thinking we'll be caught up by next week when the season ends. But, that means more new podcasts over the summer, when those other shows (who are better at time management than us) are taking their breaks.

What does that mean for The Clone Cast? THE LONGEST EPISODE IN CLONE CAST HISTORY!! But in all fairness, that's partly due to a new segment: reader mail. We're both really glad that people are diggin' on what we've been doing on The Clone Cast. Either that, or 469 people have downloaded and said, "what is this crap?!" Which is entirely possible. :P

On that note, we'll continually strive to put forth the quality (or lack thereof) that you guys have witnessed thus far, and hopefully improve as we go along.

Stay tuned, we should have our 7th episode coming soon. Nic is editing it as we speak!
